Listening to You

Our Approach to Carers

We are here to support you to balance your caring role equally between your own needs and those of the person you care for. The benefit of this is a more enjoyable and healthy life for yourself, which in turn leads to a better life for the person you care for.

We recognise that all Carers are unique and that they are capable of shaping their own destiny and thus we ensure that as a Carer you are in charge of how you wish to be supported.

How we can help you

Our Carer Support Workers are available to walk alongside you to support you to find the information and maintain the strength you need. They will:

  • listen to you
  • provide you with support, advocacy and information
  • follow up on issues for you
  • organise respite if required
  • offer you suitable groups, respites or retreats and
  • make arrangements to meet again

Carers are provided with opportunities to gather together for mutual support, sharing of information and social contact.

A range of Carer Support Groups, Social and Educational Events and Retreats are available for Carers.
